Salem Scholar Bowl traveled to Houston for Districts today. They did well winning their first three rounds, but fell short in the semifinals.
Marshall White earned 1st place in individual scoring and Preston Duncan earned 6th.

A group of Salem High School students participated in the MSU-WP Interscholastic Contest today. Salem received 1st place overall for Division I!!!!!!
Division I consisted of Glendale, Marshfield, Parkview, West Plains, Willard, and Salem. There were three divisions and a total of 25 schools at this year's contest. The sponsors are incredibly proud of each student that competed and represented our school well today!!!!!!!

Salem was selected to host and judge the Annual Opaa!Territory Recipe Contest. The winner moves on to the Regional Contest in Kansas on the 24th. The winner of the Regional Contest will win items for their kitchen and have their recipe added to the school lunch menus.

The 9th to 12th-grade Cheer Tryouts for the 2025-2026 Football and Basketball seasons will be May 5th from 4-6 in the Tin Gym! We will have a clinic each night from April 28th to May 2nd from 3:45-5 in the Tin Gym. All current students and students entering 9th grade next year at Salem High School must attend at least 2 nights of clinics.
Anyone interested in trying out MUST have an up-to-date physical on file or have one turned in on the first night they are at clinics.
SHS students can pick up tryout packets from Mrs. Hogan in room #138. Rural school students should check with their school offices for a packet. Packets must be turned in filled out and signed in order for the athlete to attend clinics or tryouts. Packets will need to be turned in at clinics, not before.

Scholar Bowl has had a busy week! On Thursday they competed in the SCA Conference tournament. Several members were unable to make it and some shifts to teams had to be made. Overall they did a fantastic job! JV finished second in their division and three got individual medals. In the JV bracket, Noah Foster placed 2nd and Ivan Brooks placed 6th. In the Varsity bracket, Carter Foster placed 8th.
Today teams competed in the Houston Spring Invitational and performed very well against a lot of tough competitors. Marshall White placed 8th individually in the competitive bracket.

Attention Sophomore and Junior Parents/Guardians - RTI/RTC 2025-2026 applications have gone out today. If your student did not get an application but is interested in attending, he/she should visit the counselor's office ASAP. Juniors returning to RTI/RTC for their senior year were also given application forms today. These forms are due back by Wednesday, March 5th. There are limited spots available. Congratulations to Reuben Hovey for taking 1st place in Carpentry at the SkillsUSA District Contest! Competing against 16 others, he earned an impressive score of 719 out of 762, earning a spot at State!
