A group of SHS students got the privilege to visit the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum on May 30th. This trip was provided for by a mini-grant from the Salem Public Schools Foundation.
According to English teacher Eric Myers, "The grant allowing us to visit the Holocaust Museum in Saint Louis helped bring to life the effects of the Holocaust for the students since we read the memoir Night this year which detailed the life of a 15-year-old during the Holocaust. The tour guides stayed with the students and provided valuable information to the students. Many interactive displays allowed students to immersify themselves in the history. All the students were respectful of the history and content of the experience and most participated in the interactive displays, enthusiastically. They agreed that it added to their knowledge and experience of the Holocaust."
Thank you Salem Public Schools Foundation for a valuable trip for our students.

Thank you to all of the businesses and orginizations that came to meet with our juniors and seniors yesterday! We appreciate your commitment and support to our students. Huge shout out to our High School Registrar, Mrs. Strange, for being an integral part in organizing this years event! We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

Another successful Coffee House Night presented by Literaty Arts Club! It was a full house and the show was packed with many entertaining performances. The night included poetry, short stories, skits, and music (even some original music created by students)! Thanks again to Ashton's Coffee Shop for hosting us again! That's all for this year, but we can't wait to bring you more entertainment opportunities next year!

Don't forget to come join Literary Arts Club this evening! It will be a good time!

WELCOME FRESHMEN!
Today Salem High School hosted all potential incoming freshmen. Students from each area school listened to a presentation, met multiple school staff members, received a tour of the high school, attended a club fair, participated in activities and games at the football field, and received a light lunch. We had a great time and hope you all did as well! We look forward to welcoming you into our school community next year!
Special thanks to all high school students and Salem staff members that made this go smoothly!
