The 9th to 12th-grade Cheer Tryouts for the 2025-2026 Football and Basketball seasons will be May 5th from 4-6 in the Tin Gym! We will have a clinic each night from April 28th to May 2nd from 3:45-5 in the Tin Gym. All current students and students entering 9th grade next year at Salem High School must attend at least 2 nights of clinics. Anyone interested in trying out MUST have an up-to-date physical on file or have one turned in on the first night they are at clinics. SHS students can pick up tryout packets from Mrs. Hogan in room #138. Rural school students should check with their school offices for a packet. Packets must be turned in filled out and signed in order for the athlete to attend clinics or tryouts. Packets will need to be turned in at clinics, not before. Thank you so much! Liz Hogan

Scholar Bowl has had a busy week! On Thursday they competed in the SCA Conference tournament. Several members were unable to make it and some shifts to teams had to be made. Overall they did a fantastic job! JV finished second in their division and three got individual medals. In the JV bracket, Noah Foster placed 2nd and Ivan Brooks placed 6th. In the Varsity bracket, Carter Foster placed 8th. Today teams competed in the Houston Spring Invitational and performed very well against a lot of tough competitors. Marshall White placed 8th individually in the competitive bracket.
