Attention Sophomore and Junior Parents/Guardians - RTI/RTC 2025-2026 applications have gone out today. If your student did not get an application but is interested in attending, he/she should visit the counselor's office ASAP. Juniors returning to RTI/RTC for their senior year were also given application forms today. These forms are due back by Wednesday, March 5th. There are limited spots available. No applications will be accepted after this date!


Congratulations to Reuben Hovey for taking 1st place in Carpentry at the SkillsUSA District Contest! Competing against 16 others, he earned an impressive score of 719 out of 762, earning a spot at State!


The Missouri State University College of Education and Department of Mathematics are offering two fantastic summer programs for high school students interested in teaching:
Bears Teach: Open to all students in grades 9-11, this program provides an introduction to the exciting world of education.
Young Mathematics Teacher Academy: Designed for students with a strong passion for math, this program explores the rewarding career of teaching mathematics.
Program Details:
Dates: June 2nd - 6th
Experience: Immersive week on the Missouri State University campus, including:
- Living in the residence halls
- Engaging in hands-on educational activities
Cost: FREE for students (transportation costs not included)
Eligibility: All high school students from rural, suburban, and urban districts are welcome.

Give Blood! Save lives! Have Fun! All blood types are needed. On Monday, March 3rd, SHS will host the last Blood Drive of the school year. So far this school year our Blood Drives have collected successfully from 52 donors. We have set a goal for this last drive of 43 donors.
Donors will get a free t-shirt AND an Ozarks Adventure Pass for TWO tickets to FOUR amazing Ozarks attractions for all donors, while supplies last. Eat tasty snacks. Save lives!


Congratulations to Maggie Hogan for winning first place at the FFA Speaking Contest! The school board recognized her outstanding achievement, and we couldn’t be more proud.


Updates to the girls and boys basketball games scheduled Thursday (Feb 20) and Friday (Feb 21). Now the games will be played on Saturday (Feb 22).
The girls JV will start at 1:00 with a half of a game, then full boys JV, girls varsity, and boys varsity to follow. These varsity games will be broadcast live on KSMO Radio and KSMO streaming platforms.
This also means that the little cheer performance has been moved to Saturday. Check the attached flyer for more information from Coach Hogan and Coach Harris.

Salem High School Scholar Bowl hosted their Spring Invitational on Saturday. Salem B (pictured), took 2nd in the standard division. Also in the standard division, August Scheel earned 9th and Noah Foster 7th for individual points. Marshall White, from Salem A, earned 8th for individual points in the competitive division. Thank you to everyone that volunteered their time and made this tournament a success! Great job Salem Scholar Bowl!

Get the news out! Due to forecasted weather, Little Cheer will now meet Monday 2/6 from 4 -6 at the Armory instead of Tuesday.

The Salem robotics team, Circuit Breakers 16506 went to the First Tech Challenge South West league tournament and competed with teams from Springfield to Rolla. They did a great job demonstrating the skills and knowledge they've gained this season. They have grown into a competitive team with a great future and we're super proud of all their accomplishments!
